Greetings in the Lord!  I thought it would be helpful to explain how I got here and a little bit about myself.

My bachelor's degree is in Elementary Education (with a concentration in Education of the Hearing Impaired) from Bloomsburg University and I hold a master's degree in Deafness Rehabilitation from New York University.  I have both PA and NJ permanent certification in elementary education.  My path into teaching was not typical.  After graduating from NYU, I worked several years in the field of vocational rehabilitation.  After my first wife went to be with the Lord in 2003, I felt led to change careers and pursue teaching, which allowed me to provide the support needed for my children.  During the 2003-2004 school year, I worked as a long-term substitute music teacher in the Nazareth (PA) Area School District.  Since I was not able to obtain a teaching position during the 2004-2005 school year, I went back to college to take some refresher courses in teaching.  Then for the 2005-2006 school year, the Lord directed me to Faith Christian School in Roseto, PA, where I was the 6th grade teacher through the 2012-2013 school year.  Although I very much enjoyed my time at Faith Christian School, I wanted to find a position closer to my new home.  For the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years, I was the 3rd grade teacher at Grace Christian School in Telford, PA.  More recently, I felt led to pursue a position as a public school Special Education Assistant.  From 2015 to 2017, I was blessed to work with a student with cerebral palsy at Walton Farm Elementary School in the North Penn School District.  While at Walton Farm, I was called upon to substitute in regular education classrooms, which reignitated the "teaching bug" in me!

In 2011, I married a wonderful, godly, and fun-filled woman named Dorothy ("Dor" for short, sounds like Dar).  She is a teacher at North Penn High School (better her than me!).  I have two adult children from my first marriage, named Ethan and Larissa.  We also have a cat named Ruby.  I enjoy singing, playing keyboards, & listening to Christian music (contemporary and worship).  During the summer, I enjoy spending time at the beach because God gives me an indescribable peace when I am close to the ocean.  Traveling is also a passion and feel free to ask me about my various trips, including my most recent adventure to Alaska!  I am also an avid football fan (GO PHILADELPHIA EAGLES & BLOOMSBURG HUSKIES!).  Most of all, I am grateful that I serve an awesome God!
